I stopped by looking for a book to give as a gift, and it’s definitely a good place for that. I think I just came at a bad time because I felt a little rushed and didn’t get to browse as much as I wanted. Still, they had some solid options and I’d probably try again another day.

"Got the wrong books in my order"
Umm, I ordered 3 books and only one of them was actually what I picked. The other two were completely different titles, which was really frustrating. I reached out to support, but it took days to hear back and the issue still hasn’t been fixed. It was supposed to be a gift too, so that made it even more annoying. I don’t think I’ll order from here again.

"Shipping took way too long"
I ordered a book from Chronicle Books, and for some reason the shipping just dragged on way longer than I expected. The tracking also stopped updating for days, which made it even more frustrating because I had no idea what was going on.
The book itself was totally fine once it finally arrived, but I really needed it sooner. I’d probably order again if I wasn’t in a hurry, but the shipping speed definitely needs to be better...

"Checkout was frustrating, but it worked eventually"
The site was annoying to use. Checkout kept freezing on me, and I had to refresh a couple times before it finally went through. I guess I got my order placed in the end, but it definitely wasn’t a smooth experience.

"Book showed up a little beat up"
So, the book arrived with one corner dented, which was a bit disappointing... but it’s still totally readable and otherwise fine

"Customer service took longer than I expected"
I emailed twice about my order and didn’t hear back until about a week later. In my opinion, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but the replies were definitely slower than I would’ve liked.

"Checkout works when it wants to"
It did go through eventually, but the checkout was slow and felt like it only works when it wants to. Not the worst experience, just kind of frustrating when you're trying to finish up quickly

I stopped by recently after meaning to check it out for a while, and the books they had were decent overall. I found a couple things that caught my eye, but after browsing for about 20 minutes, the selection started to feel a bit limited. I’d probably come back now and then, but I do wish they had more variety.

"Beautiful artwork, but the layout feels a little busy"
I picked this up sometime last month, or maybe it was the month before, and the illustrations really stood out to me right away. The art is genuinely lovely and has a lot of charm. That said, a few of the pages feel kind of crowded, so it’s not always the easiest thing to browse through. The design is decent overall, but I do wish the layout had a bit more breathing room

"Felt a bit bare-bones"
I was kind of let down. The content just felt thin, like there wasn’t much to dig into. It wasn’t terrible or anything, but I expected more and ended up feeling disappointed overall.

"Book showed up beat up"
I was disappointed with how this was packaged. It came in a thin mailer with no padding, so the corners were crushed and the cover ended up bent. I know it’s just shipping wear, if that makes sense, but for the price I really expected it to arrive in better condition.

"The return itself was accepted without much trouble..."
The return itself was accepted without much trouble, but getting my refund took almost three weeks. I had to email them twice just to find out what was going on, which made it feel like they were making it my problem to chase down. The books were fine, but the returns process was annoying

"Just a good deal on nice books"
I’ve had a good experience overall. The books are nice and the prices are just decent for what you get. I do wish the shipping was just a little cheaper, but it’s still a good value.
